Hayley Dean
​- Salon Owner

​Hayley opened the salon at age 21. She is a local girl from Tingley with excellent knowledge in all aspects of hairdressing.

Training began in 2005 working at Williams Hair Salon in East Ardsley to assist an apprenticeship at Philips Hair Academy in Wakefield. Hayley then completed  a City & Guilds NVQ Level 3 in Hairdressing, also at Philips Hair Academy whilst working at Fusion Hair Studio, East Ardsley.
 
After working in industry for a few years, Hayley completed a City & Guilds Training And Quality Assurance course to enable her to accompany young apprentices through their NVQ qualification. She completed her teaching qualifications through Wakefield College to allow her to pursue her career as a hairdressing tutor. This was the ultimate goal for Hayley and the next adventure began in September 2022, as she took on a new role as Hairdressing Tutor at B-Skill Batley on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Hayley now works every Monday and Thursday in salon and is extremely busy, which can mean appointments need to be booked well in advance.

​With ambition and passion, she is driven to provide the best service to each and every client who enters the salon.

Rebecca Tate
- Stylist

Becky joined our team at The Hair Lounge in September 2014. She began her career in the hairdressing industry straight from leaving school. She is qualified up to City & Guilds Level 3 in Women’s Hairdressing and also holds her Level 2 in Barbering too.

Becky started out working full time for Philips Hair Salons (Morley) to accompany her hairdressing qualifications at Philips Hair Academy in Wakefield before joining our team as maternity cover but is now a highly valued asset to the salon.

She is fun, confident and loves taking on a challenge with her clients’ hair! Catch her in salon alternate Mondays & Fridays and every Wednesday and Thursday.

Morgan Duncan
- Stylist

Morgan joined The Hair Lounge team in Summer 2019 and began her Hairdressing Professional apprenticeship at Philips Hair Academy in Leeds, which landed her with Distinction for her final exam.

Morgan is enthusiastic to learning and despite setbacks from the coronavirus pandemic, she continued to strive forward to achieving her goals by completing her Level 3 Hairdressing qualification at B-Skill, Ossett.

Her personality and confidence beam through, and this is what brings her clients back each time. We are lucky to have her every Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday here at The Hair Lounge.

Emily Rutherford
— Stylist

Emily joined The Hair Lounge team in August 2025 to help cover some of Becky’s clients whilst she goes on maternity leave. Emily is fully qualified to a high level 3 standard and has kindly offered to help us out in salon, working with us on Thursdays. She loves blondes and balayage but her expertise is definitely hair up and occasion styling!


She is polite, professional and friendly which are all the qualities that we look for when expanding our team and I am excited to watch Emily’s confidence grow. She currently works self employed in her own salon but I hope we can convince her to stay with us, even when Becky returns!

Skye Donnelly
— Junior Assistant Stylist

Skye joined the salon in May 2025 whilst in her final year at 14+ Academy in Leeds. She did hair and beauty as part of her final 2 years at school and passed all her GCSES, securing her a place at Leeds City College to do Hairdressing full time from September 2025. She has been working in salon and carrying out washing and styling services on different clients every week to help build her confidence and timings. Skye has shown so much progress during her time with us and we already see huge potential in her skill set - we know she will make a fantastic hairdresser!
